Welcome to Promise Resource Network!
Promise Resource Network, Inc. was started in 2006 in Charlotte, NC as Mecklenburg’s PROMISE to embrace all people and create opportunities for wellness, healing, and transformation. PRN is a peer-run organization that employs people in recovery to partner with individuals, families, communities and organizations to advance recovery from emotional distress, mental health and substance use challenges.
PRN's services are contributing to the development of a recovery-oriented behavioral health system where recovery is valued, expected, supported and funded.
PRN Initiatives Transforming the Behavioral Health Service Delivery System
PRN provides recovery and wellness supports throughout Mecklenburg County. These resources bring the message of recovery, employment, healing, and wellness-self management to people with mental health and substance use challenges and their families as well as to people in local jails, homeless shelters and other local service providers.
Advancing Peer Support
PRN offers comprehensive training, technical assistance and consultations to Peer Specialists, peer supervisors, organizations and communities. These services help organizations integrate peer support into their workforce, as well as recruit and retain these professionals to build a system in which peer support is valued and effective.
The consulting, training and technical assistance provided by PRN balance philosophy and recovery principles with the latest research, evidence-based practices and practical applications to increase knowledge and expand recovery-based practices, policies, and processes.
PRN is also Fostering Social Change and Advancing Recovery Education
Promise Resource Network is prime example of Fostering Social Change. Since 2006, PRN has played an integral role in the shift toward a recovery-oriented system of care. Instead of perpetuating dependency and low expectations, PRN inspires hope and serves as a catalyst for personal greatness. You too can foster social change by starting your own initiative or supporting existing efforts.
To add to these efforts and increase your knowledge, PRN invites you to explore the Recovery Education section that provides up to date information, personal stories, research, tools, resources, practices and models. We look forward to working with you and/or your organization, and together we can expand recovery-oriented systems of care.
